Obituary
Meghan McRae Gros, daughter of Sharon McRae Gros and Dennis Elmer Gros. Survived by both parents and her sister, Danielle Pamela Gros Price. She also is survived by her maternal Grandfather, Richard Russell McRae of Baton Rouge, LA. She is the granddaughter of the late Ruby Gilma McRae of Baton Rouge and paternal grandparents Elmer Felix Gros and Odile Hilda Gros, of Metairie Louisiana.
Meghan lived most recently in Nolensville, TN. In previous years, Meghan lived in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Aspen, Colorado. She attended schools in Williamson County TN, and was a proud graduate of her mother's home school curriculum. Meghan then attended Baton Rouge Community College. During this period she became known as a cheerful, gregarious leader of fragrances sales at a Baton Rouge department store. During the winter season of 2014, Meghan was employed at a popular Aspen Colorado snow ski operator, where she enjoyed snowboarding on the slopes in her spare time.
Meghan shared her mother's sympathetic tenderness for companion animals, especially those neglected and abused. Her most recent rescue was a cat appropriately named Trouble.
Meghan lived life with gusto and intensity. She had an outspoken, impulsive personality and a captivating smile. From 2015 - 2016, Meghan shared her life with street people of New Orleans. She supported her benevolence by employment simultaneously at two locations as a server and a bartender. When people needed rent, she paid. When people needed food, she shared. She gave what she had, and on occasion, she incurred debt to give what she didn't have. At the time of her death, Meghan had returned to Nolensville, TN and secured a job in the field that she loved, bartending.
Extended relatives include maternal aunt Pamela McRae Wales of Clinton, Tennessee and uncle Richard Russell McRae Jr. of Denton, North Carolina. Also paternal aunt Marianne Gros Engolia of Covington, Louisiana.
To make a donation in Meghan's memory, the family suggests Marion County Animal Shelter, 1186 County Highway 160, Guin Alabama, 35563.
